Our Students Say. . .

"Going through each piece for the final project has given me the opportunity to see how much I have changed from formal, traditional assessments to much more authentic learning activities and hands-on assessments. I have learned how to remove the lower level thinking activities and bring in the higher level thinking activities. I am much happier with my course design as I make these changes to my own thinking and processing.”
~Tracy Fleck

"I found this class to be immensely gratifying, and I can honestly say that my mind is full with new ideas, new concepts and new ways to assess students that I either shrugged off as ‘it will never work’ or simply didn't think to consider. I think the most surprising of these was the blog and the use for self-reflection. I’ve always valued self-assessments but I kept them very short and simple with my students, never really utilizing it to its full potential."

"I plan to make extensive revisions to the shorter assessments that the students currently use and will transition that into an online weekly journal of goals and reflection on personal progress.”
~ Kristina Vines, Technical College Instructor/Program Chairperson Surgical Technology

"This class has 'pushed' me out of my comfort zone and forced me to try new assessment tools, and I’ve learned a lot about how assessment works in the online environment. "
~ Adina Ness, Dental Hygienist

"Thanks for bringing so many new tools within reach and facilitating the proper applications/assessments in online learning. It is imperative, for authentic learning to take place, for the tool to provide a means for accurate assessment of the objective. All of my colleagues in this class so diligently contributed their expertise to the discussions, so that I might increase my expertise."
~ Traci Skog, Library Assistant

"This course taught me the advantages and disadvantages of many assessment tools that can be used in my future online courses.
~ Dora Szemborski, College Accounting Instructor
