Which Type of Reentry Student Are You?
There are two types of reentry students:
Regular reentry students are those who have completed no transferable credits from any postsecondary institution since they last attended UW-Stout.
Transfer reentry students are those who have completed transferable credits at another post-secondary institution since they last attended UW-Stout.
Application Process: Regular Reentry Students
- Complete the UW System Application.
- You do not need to pay the $50 application fee, submit your high school transcripts, or submit your ACT/SAT score.
- If you were in good standing when you left UW-Stout, you may be readmitted as enrollment management goals allow.
- If you were on academic probation when you left UW-Stout, you may be readmitted on academic probation if there are openings in your chosen program.
- If you are reapplying after being academically dismissed from UW-Stout, you may be readmitted on probation. You are required to submit a letter of appeal with your application. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Director of Admissions.
Application Process: Transfer Reentry Students
- Complete the UW System Application.
- Submit official transcripts from any other universities or colleges you've attended.
- You do not need to pay the $50 application fee, submit your high school transcripts, or submit your ACT/SAT score.
- If your GPA is less than 2.20, you will be denied readmittance to UW-Stout. However, you may appeal this decision with the Dean of Students Office.
- If you were in good standing or on academic probation when you left UW-Stout, you will be readmitted in the same status. Admission is contingent on your eligibility to return to your most recent institution as well as UW-Stout enrollment management goals.
- If you are reapplying after being academically dismissed from UW-Stout, you may be readmitted on probation. You are required to submit a letter of appeal with your application. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Director of Admissions.
