Campus Security Alert - Burglary

Campus Security Alert: Burglary Campus Security Alert: Burglary On March 31, 2017, at approximately 10:00am, the UW-Stout Police Department responded to a 911 call of a burglary in the Financial Aid office in 210 Bowman Hall. In this case, a lone male subject entered the office area and took a small amount of cash. The subject left on foot and was pursued briefly by witnesses and bystanders. He was last seen in the area of 9th Avenue and 6th Street. No weapons were displayed and no threats were made. No one was injured. The suspect is described as a black male, about 6’ to 6’2” tall, with a slim to medium build, and in his early 20s. He was last seen wearing a gray cardigan style sweatshirt with a white t-shirt underneath that hung below the sweatshirt, baggy blue jeans. The suspect has a corkscrew style hair style. While this case is still under investigation, we want to remind the campus community of some general safety tips. First, to be sure to secure rooms or residences whenever they are unoccupied. Also take steps to not leave valuables unattended in public places for any length of time. Call police immediately to report suspicious activity.
