Artist Statement
This body of work explores the overlap of digital and traditional media. I am primarily a digital artist and my work most often resides on the computer screen. However, with the increased accessibility of technologies like 3D printing I am able to bring my work into a new dimension.
So often I find that I am trying to recreate real life and hide the fact my work is created on the computer. Subsequently, I find that I try to create art with the façade of other mediums. This work is a way for me to lift the veil, so to speak, and show the foundation of my digital medium. By comparing and contrasting the two approaches I end up with a result that resides within a gap between technology and traditional media.
