If you're a fun, caring, motivated person who loves working with teenagers, join us for a week at UW-Stout as a counselor for the Summer STEAM Experience.
Summer STEAM Experience is a collaboration of Art & Design Camp and STEM Camp featured in one week, June 14-18, 2020. Students entering grades 8 to 12 are invited to explore career paths with UW-Stout faculty experts while engaging in science, technology, engineering, art and math in a hands-on setting. Camp activities and career panels will provide well-rounded experiences to highlight the possibilities of creative and critical thinking.
Counselors will be responsible for:
- Supervising campers during the entirety of the camp.
- Working closely with your team of 10-12 campers.
- Serving as a role model, a mentor, and a leader.
- Serving as the health supervisor to your campers. (Training will be provided.)
- Overseeing the safety of the group.
- Ensuring campers are at their scheduled activity on time.
- Assisting with planning and implementing designated camp activities as a team.
- Attending camp counselor training.
- Providing support as a mentor to encourage campers to engage in all activities.
We are looking for people (18+) with a wide range of skills who can work collaboratively and form connections. Summer STEAM Experience will run June 14-18 with staff training on June 13. Pay is $600 with room and board at UW-Stout.

Also hiring Head Counselors and Teaching Assistants:
Head Counselors play an integral role in creating a fun and educational experience for Summer STEAM Experience campers.
Head Counselors are responsible for the following:
- Leading the counselors during activities and trainings.
- Relaying messages to the Camp Director.
- Planning activities for camp during the spring semester.
- Acting as a counselor with its duties as well.
- Head Counselors will provide input on camp activities, campers, staff, and general camp-wide issues during a daily counselor meeting.
- Head Counselors cannot also work as teaching assistants.
We are looking for people (18+) with previous camp experience and a wide range of skills who can work collaboratively and form connections. Must be available to work during the spring semester. Pay is $8/hour during the semester and $750 plus room and board for the week of camp.

Teaching Assistants will be responsible for:
- Assist instructor with assigned track - must have experience in that topic. See the main page for the list of tracks.
- Supervise campers during lunch along with counselors.
- Serve as a role model, mentor and leader.
- Time requirements are Monday-Thursday, June 17-20 from 8:30 am - 4:15 pm.
- Pay is $300 including lunch, shared dorm accommodations available.
