We Are Renovating!
From the summer of May 2018 to December of next year, Merle Price Commons will be undergoing renovations on the first floor. This building is one of the most frequently used spaces on campus with approximately 500,000 visitors passing through each year. With the renovation, Price Commons will receive new layout and updated look to better serve the students and staff at UW-Stout.

Renovation Goals
The renovation will focus on updating the building's functionality and interior space including a reconfiguration of the first floor, upgraded mechanical systems, and new finishes. Our goals include:
- Upgrading the fire suppression, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Renovating all four main entrances and patio
- New exterior windows and sills
- Remodeling offices and areas including SLS Tech, University Dining Administration, The Qube, Mini-Mart, and the Glass Lounge
Total project cost for the renovation is $7,573,000.
Project Funding
Funding for the renovation is being provided through a loan from program revenue and bonds from University Dining, Housing, and the Student Centers. The bonds were made available through modest operational budget increases.
Building Operations
Price Commons will remain open to the public, students, and staff for the entire renovation. Building accessibility will change periodically and be limited to select entrances. Departments that originally provide services in Price Commons will be working from different locations on campus until mid-fall.
