CONCURRENT ACTIVITIES

OPTION 1: Cloud Security Hands-On Labs with Capture the Flag
Led by Brandon Cross

We’ve all heard about the Capital One hack and many other cloud-based hacking incidents. A move to the cloud presents new security challenges, with new tools to learn and new controls to put in place. It's no longer enough to simply throw up a firewall and hope for the best.

In this cloud-based capture the flag competition, we will build a vulnerable cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code with 10 flags relating to DNS, Databases, Storage, Secret Tokens, Snapshots, and more. Everyone is welcome—students, instructors, and industry professionals. Whoever finds the most flags wins!

NOTE: Individuals will use their own AWS account to participate in the hands-on labs and CTF game. Setting up an AWS account requires a valid credit card. Full instructions for setting up your AWS account will be provided at a later date.
