photo of CarrieCarrie is an Assistive Technology Specialist for the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS).  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University, and was recently awarded a doctoral degree in occupational therapy from Mary Baldwin University.  Carrie has over 30 years of experience as an occupational therapist, focusing on assistive technology for much of her career, and has worked in vocational rehabilitation with DARS for 12 years.  She developed and initiated a handheld technology program with individuals with memory and anxiety challenges, and recently completed a research study observing the effects of a time management program implemented within the vocational rehabilitation setting.  Carrie has presented several times at state and national conferences on handheld technology and assistive technology.
