Students are involved with the Unspooled Film and Animation Festival in every aspect of production. The perspectives of students from Wisconsin and Minnesota, but also from around the world are built into the DNA of the festival. We have over 100 submissions from student filmmakers!

UW-Stout students like Payton recruit volunteers and acts as an ambassador for the festival in the campus community as a part of an Independent Study class.

Graduate assistant, Pang researches the venue to disseminate specific technical aspects of projection ahead of the screening. Both Payton and Pang have screened hundreds of submissions to 'green flag' the best of the best for our jury.
