Our Mission

UW-Stout Polytechnic's Business Department supports the mission and goals of the School of Management within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Management. Our mission, through effective and caring stewardship of students in and out of the classroom, and via cross-disciplinary collaborations in research and service to our community, is to facilitate student learning with interactive and participatory teaching, so that our graduates have every opportunity possible to enter successfully a global workforce or to pursue post-graduate studies.

Vision

To be recognized nationally and internationally for the effective integration of research and practice-based teaching, with the resources of a polytechnic institution, to produce innovative, inspired, confident, and successful leaders in business administration who understand the values of entrepreneurialism, diversity, and sustainability in the marketplace.

UW-Stout Polytechnic's campus is rich with concepts, innovations, and products. The physical and service infrastructures to support entrepreneurship include the Office of Corporate Relations & Economic Engagement, Fab Lab, Center for Innovation & Development, Made@Stout, 3DayStartup, Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament, and the expertise of faculty and students across campus in arts, industrial design, engineering, retail, fashion, languages, law, and much more.
