Who should attend?
This event is for anyone interested in maintaining a healthy mind throughout their life especially at age 65 and beyond. Community members of all ages are welcome!
What’s going on?
Amanda Barnett, Ph.D., and Cristy Linse, Ph.D., will be co-facilitating this interactive session on the benefits of adopting a growth mindset and learning how to utilize storytelling as one tool for developing and maintaining a growth mindset as we age. Lunch will be provided. Dr. Barnett is an associate professor in the department of human development and family studies at UW-Stout and Dr. Linse is the director of the Initiative to Create the UW-Stout Center for the Study and Promotion of Health and Wellbeing.
Why should I attend?
Your mind matters! A positive view of your own aging process can add healthier years to your life. Storytelling can enhance brain development and increase your feelings of social connection with family, friends, and your community. It is never too early or too late to share your story and learn from others.
What does it cost?
This event is presented free of charge because of a grant from the UW-Stout Baldrige Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration Committee for Valuing People, and as an ongoing and integral part of the initiative to create the UW-Stout Center for the Study and Promotion of Health and wellbeing.
