Step Into the Future of Quality Management
With the upcoming transition to the ISO 9001:2026 standard, the role of the internal auditor is more crucial than ever. Wisconsin Manufacturing Outreach Center (WisMOC) at UW-Stout Polytechnic offers comprehensive ISO Internal Auditor Training designed to equip your team with the skills, confidence, and insight needed to navigate the shift from the 2015 standards to the modernized 2026 requirements, as well as the ISO 13485:2016 standard.
Why It Matters
While maintaining ISO certification is the baseline goal, investing in proper internal auditor training drives value far beyond compliance:
- Navigating the 2026 Update: The new ISO 9001:2026 standard introduces modernized approaches to quality management and a heavier emphasis on risk-based thinking. Auditors must be trained on these specific shifts to prevent compliance gaps.
- Mandatory for Certification: A robust, scheduled internal audit process isn't optional, it is a requirement for achieving and maintaining any ISO certification. Without trained auditors, the system fails.
- Driving Continuous Improvement: Effective internal audits do more than just check boxes. A trained auditor knows how to follow an audit trail to uncover hidden inefficiencies, identify root causes of nonconformities, and spotlight areas where the business can operate smarter.
- Building Internal Competence: Developing your own in-house auditing team builds a self-sustaining culture of quality. It empowers your employees to take ownership of process improvements and reduces your reliance on expensive external consultants.
Our two-day program supports everyone from absolute beginners to seasoned system managers. Through hands-on practice audits using real departmental documentation, attendees will learn exactly how to audit, how to be audited, and how to accurately record results.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Understand the Framework: Master quality terminology, the core intent behind the standards, and the “Plan, Do, Check, Act” methodology.
- Execute Process Audits: Learn the fundamentals of the “process audit” approach—including how to ask meaningful questions, evaluate conformance, and discern when an audit finding is actually warranted.
- Drive Corrective Action: Develop the ability to write objective audit plans and reports that trigger effective corrective actions.
- Defend Findings: Learn how to present your audit findings clearly and defend them based on strict compliance with the ISO standard.
