Welcome to Hansen Keith Milnes Chinnock (HKMC) Hall! Known for its welcoming atmosphere, HKMC offers the perfect balance of close-knit floor communities and a vibrant hall-wide experience. Whether you're enjoying a game of sand volleyball in the courtyard, challenging friends in the pool rooms, or studying in one of our comfortable study spaces, there's always a place to connect. Located next to Johnson Fieldhouse and just a short walk from the Applied Arts Building, HKMC is home to many student-athletes and art students while welcoming residents from every major and interest. Throughout the year, our staff host craft nights, friendly tournaments, study events, and other engaging programs that help residents build friendships, create lasting memories, and truly feel at home.

Room Size & Layout

The plans below show the general layout and dimensions. Individual halls vary slightly from this standard. We are unable to accommodate requests for specific room measurements. Two adjustable bed lofts are available in each room. A futon needs to be 79 inches or less to fit within the loft frame.

HKMC Double Room: The room is approximately 11' x 15' with a ceiling height of 7'8". Each room includes two adjustable bed lofts, two dressers, two closets, two movable bookcases, two desks, and two desk chairs. A microwave and refrigerator are also provided in each room.

HKMC Triple Room: The room is approximately 19'10" x 10'10" with a ceiling height of 7'8". Each room includes one adjustable loft bunk, one adjustable bed loft, three dressers, three closets, three movable bookcases, three desks, and three desk chairs. A microwave and refrigerator are also provided in each room.

*Extended double rooms are the size of a triple room, they house two people with two sets of furniture.

HKMC Namesakes

  • H.M. Hansen taught wood-working and cabinetry for 40 years.
  • Floyd Keith was a 38-year instructor of welding and sheet metals.
  • Harold Milnes was a skilled craftsman and devoted teacher for 38 years.
  • Dwight Chinnock initiated off-campus supervision of industrial education student teachers and is a faculty member in Stout's Athletic Hall of Fame.
