We are sad to announce the August 8th ceremony has been canceled.
On June 8, Chancellor Frank stated in her Fall Planning Updates memo:
“Finally, it is with great sadness that we announce that it will not be possible for us to host an in-person commencement ceremony on August 8. We had hoped that circumstances would allow us to gather at that time to celebrate the tremendous achievements of our 2019-20 graduates, but that is not the case. Health officials continue to advise against large gatherings to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Given the large number of graduates who have expressed interest in attending this ceremony, it would simply be impossible for us to adhere to the social distancing practices required by health officials. As previously stated, any Spring 2020 graduate who desires to participate in an in-person ceremony will be permitted to do so at the time when we are able to resume our traditional commencement event. We know this is a disappointing announcement for many of you.”
The Commencement office will send out another RSVP for the opportunity to walk in a future in-person ceremony. This email will be sent out later this fall. Please continue to monitor your UW-Stout or personal email accounts for updates on this. NOTE: If you are using your personal account and no longer using your Stout account, please update your personal email in Access Stout by following the action item step below.
Diplomas are being mailed from our Registration and Records office. The Commencement office will be mailing out diploma covers, copies of the May Virtual Commencement program and honors cords, if applicable, in July. NOTE: make sure your mailing address is accurate in Access Stout by following the action item step below.
Update Personal Information in Access Stout
- Login and go to “Self Service”
- From the Self-Service page navigate to “Campus Personal Information” and click the link.
- Update your personal information by following the links for Email, Phone, Address and any other information you would like updated in the system. You will need to update each item separately and make sure to save your changes!
