Student position within Marketing Communications, UW-StoutAs the Junior Digital Marketing Specialist, you will report to the Digital Marketing Manager and work closely on the Digital Media Team within Marketing Communications (MarCom). Your scope of work will focus strongly on digital marketing but may also include assisting with market research, or email marketing. You will gain invaluable experience planning for, setting up, launching, and monitoring real campaigns. We often meet with clients from across campus to understand their goals, guide effective marketing strategies, execute those strategies, and provide reports on our outcomes. We are a fun-loving and hard-working team that enjoys the creative, data-driven mission of telling the UW-Stout story. ResponsibilitiesAssist with planning, executing, assessing, and optimizing paid social media, LinkedIn, Spotify, and Google Ads campaigns.Assist in creating campaigns, including developing ad copy, setting up audience targeting, selecting and creating imagery, and proofreading for consistency.Review in-progress campaigns to determine how to best optimize them. After campaigns have finished, author analysis reports to provide to clients.Monitor metrics and spends for our digital campaigns.Research and explore new platforms, tactics, or trends that we can incorporate into our digital strategy.Maintain a critical eye on our digital operations and offer up ideas on how to troubleshoot issues or improve our outcomes.Assist in updating MarCom’s content library.Work within Smartsheets, our departmental project management system, to effectively prioritize and complete tasks.Participate in daily stand-up meetings and be a responsive communicator with the team.May possibly assist in developing user personas to help identify our target audiences.May possibly assist with market research including keywords and SEO (search engine optimization). QualificationsStrong interpersonal and written communication skills—a strong team player with the ability to self-direct and be resourceful when trouble-shooting questions.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects.Bonus if you have previous experience planning digital marketing campaigns through platforms like Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or others. However, you will also be provided on-the-job training in this area.Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)Familiarity with Google Analytics and other data assessment tools.Completed or plan to take one or more of the following classes:ICT 305 - Information Systems for EnterpriseDMT 311 - Information and Communication Technologies AnalyticsBUMKG 350 - Digital Marketing Strategy and PracticeBUMKG 391 – Principles of Social Media Marketing ManagementICT/DMT 485 - Search Engine Optimization Additional DetailsMust be enrolled at UW-Stout and capable of working on campus.Our office is located on the 3rd floor of Sorensen Hall.Wage is $11.00/hour.Work-study status preferred.Start date and hourly schedule to be determined, based on your availability.Average 10 to 15 hours a week.Co-ops/Internship opportunity available.
