Your minor in Plant Science will broaden your knowledge base necessary for plant-related careers in environmental consulting, with government and non-governmental agencies, and in the plant biotechnology industry.
You will receive plant science experience in our courses which cover botany, ecology, soil science, plant biotechnology, plant identification, and horticultural practices and management skills.
Our program will give you the background to be a competitive applicant in today's multi-billion dollar biotech industry where many jobs are centered in plant biotechnology and plant disease prevention.
Students pursuing a Plant Science minor come from a broad variety of programs. You may benefit particularly from our program if you are majoring in Environmental Science, Applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, an interdisciplinary science, or Golf Enterprise Management.
Minors are defined as either “studies in the discipline” or as “teaching.”
