Location: Student Centers Hours: Mondays-Fridays, 4:15 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. or 8:15 p.m. - 12:15 a.m. (employee must sign up for at least one recurring weekly shift each semester). Saturday and Sunday, hours may vary (typically 8-9 hour shifts), employee must be available to work a minimum of 2 weekends per month. Overnight shifts may be required based on event needs. Minimum Qualifications: • Must have attended UW-Stout full-time for at least one semester and have at least one year remaining. • Minimum academic credit load of six (6) undergraduate or graduate credits at UW-Stout. • Excellent customer service mindset • Able to communicate with a diverse range of clients, colleagues and guests. • Presents a positive and professional image. • Able to work independently, and within a team environment. • Ability to work well under pressure, make decisions and solve problems. • Detail-oriented and thorough in following through on tasks. • Dependable team member. General ResponsibilitiesBuilding Managers represent the Student Centers (Memorial Student Center and Price Commons) and are responsible for the general supervision of the facilities, including security of the buildings, safety of guests, assisting reservations and events, decision-making during irregular situations or requests, and handling emergency situations, all according to University and Student Centers policies. Building Managers provide valuable service to students, staff, faculty and guests. Building Managers work to meet guest needs in a consistent and professional manner. The Building Managers report to the Student Centers Associate Director - Conferences and Events.Essential Tasks, Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacility Coverage• Responsible for opening and closing the Memorial Student Center and Price Commons.• Maintain order, security and safety of the buildings and guests.• Monitor the Student Centers facilities to check on activities/reservations and enforce policies.• Responsible for performing all tasks on daily shift checklists.• Responsible for assisting operations staff to meet guest needs. This may include room set-ups and teardowns; cleaning tables, bathrooms, floors or other areas of the building; and assisting the Event Technology Crew (ETC) as needed.• Responsible for enacting emergency and weather procedures as situations arise.Guest Relations• Serve as a source of information and assistance for Student Centers guests.• Interact with and meet the needs of event clients while portraying a professional and positive attitude.• Enforce and promote Student Centers reservation, promotional and building use policies and procedures.• Maintain a working knowledge of Student Centers audio/visual equipment to assist guests as needed.Additional Duties• Handle cash drawers for University Dining Services.• Attend regular Building Manager meetings.• Attend and complete all required trainings.• CPR and AED Certification will be provided and is required.• Work on special projects as assigned.• Other duties as assigned.
