Please, direct GPS Program questions to Career Services: careerservices@uwstout.edu.MSS Student Assistant for Grants and Scholarships2024-25 Academic YearThis position will be in the Multicultural Student Services (MSS) office and work closely with MSS staff and students to enhance multicultural understanding and serve as an advocate within an inclusive environment. The MSS Student Assistant for Grants and Scholarships will assist the MSS Advisor in the coordination of the Lawton Undergraduate Multicultural Retention Grant (LUMRG) and Multicultural Student Scholarship. This position will provide support with a variety of tasks that can vary from day to day. Tasks include assisting MSS Advisor with program recruitment and marketing, data entry, creating Canvas assignments, facilitation of workshops/grant activities, and completing other duties as assigned. This position would be ideal for students seeking to improve their leadership skills, communication, organizational, and time prioritization skills.Job Responsibilities:• Assist with the planning and coordination of MSS workshops and activities as part of the Lawton Grant and Multicultural Scholarship. This includes attending and assisting with some evening/weekend programs (Lawton first group meeting, Leadership Retreat, Grants & Scholarship application sessions, foundation application workshop, etc.)• Assist with the recruitment of students to apply for Lawton Grant and Multicultural Affinity Group Scholarship and promotion and marketing of the grant/scholarship.• Assist with organizing and updating the Lawton Grant and Multicultural Scholarship Canvas course, MSS StoutCloud page, and the MSS-approved activities calendar • Assist in developing Canvas assignments and virtual activities for the grant and scholarship requirements • Assist with front desk support and coverage• Attending weekly one-on-one meetings with supervisor• Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA• Produce accurate work efficiently with attention to detail and deadlines • Be willing to learn and grow• Must be willing and able to speak in front of small and large groups• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment• Ability to work office equipment including assisting with printing, copying, and scanning needs • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality of student information• Experience working with racial/ethnic minority groups with commitment to social justice, equity, and diversity
