You will be paid for your orientation, assessment, and 1:1 coaching appointments with a Career Services Career Coach. Please, direct GPS Program questions to Career Services: careerservices@uwstout.edu.Position Summary UWSFS Peer Mentors are an integral part of the Fostering Success program. The UWSFS team of Peer Mentors will support and provide encouragement to program students, assist with student engagement and retention, plan activities and events, track inventory for and assist students in the UWSFS Supply Closet. Estimated number of hours per week: 5-8.Position Description In all aspects of the position, assist with supporting, encouraging, and engaging current and future UWSFS students, including attending UWSFS events *20% Assist with coordinating and planning UWSFS events, including bi-weekly Family Dinners *5% Consult with UWSFS Director and Advisor to provide the best service and resources to students *75% UWSFS Supply Closet Duties: assisting students, tracking inventory, generating shopping lists Responsibilities*Exhibit a high level of attention, energy, and sincerity *Greet students and guests who visit the Fostering Success offices *Discuss crucial issues commonly faced by students using positive advice *Be aware of Fostering Success program and goals to accurately answer questions of students and guests visiting the office *Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications *Eligible for UWSFS (experience with foster care, adoption, homelessness, or other out-of-home care)*Eligible for GPS (see top of page)*Possess a willing and enthusiastic attitude to learn and work with a team of diverse individuals
