The Furlong Gallery offers many training opportunities to students who are interested in acquiring practical skills in Art & Design. This job description lists the basic tasks that workers are required to perform in their employment within each of the galleries. Students may choose to specialize in specific areas based on their experience and area of study. Furlong Gallery -Assist with the Furlong Permanent Collection and its archival software-Complete framing and matting as needed-Promote exhibitions and events through our social media presence-Supervise Furlong Gallery during open hours-Assist with installations and de-installations-Assist with artist receptions and other events-Help design promotional materials for exhibitsLibrary Art Lab -Assist in coordinating shows with exhibitors-Assist with installations and de-installations-Assist with curatorial opportunities-Any other duties assigned by Gallery Coordinator Pedestal Gallery-Assist installation/deinstallation-Any other duties assigned Gallery 209 {.25 per hour pay increase}-Maintain good communication with exhibitors and gallery staff-Paint and repair gallery walls and podiums-Complete walk-through check lists with exhibitors-Organize the storage and framing rooms-Help with exhibit lighting, when necessary-Alert Gallery Coordinator of any negligence or abuse of gallery space-Stock necessary supplies
