Research Interests

I am currently serving as Director of the Women and Gender Studies Program and the Chair of the Chancellor's Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity Coalition. I do much work around the issues of diversity and inclusive excellence. I am an active researcher in the area of high-impact practices, minority retention and infusing diversity into the curriculum. Other research interests include works of personal narrative and memoir; narrative theory; writing memoir; the rhetoric, personal narrative and personal life of Jane Addams and the women of Hull-House and applying cultural studies as a theory to inform and explain personal narrative/memoir.
