Kevin’s interest in instructional technology began when he was 15. He spent hours teaching himself how to program, which led to a programming position with the University of Illinois. Anyone remember PLATO terminals? Kevin spent three years working for the Computer Adaptive Testing and Measurement team developing online study materials for domestic and international audiences.

Since his programming days, Kevin received a Master of Education: Curriculum & Instruction degree from the University of Illinois and recently finished his doctorate coursework in the field of Instructional Technology and Distance Education. He has served as a full-time faculty and Dean of Instruction for a technical college, Director of Education in the corporate world, and is now the CEO of The Cutting Ed, Inc., an education consulting company working with institutions and organizations wanting to transition their curriculum to the online environment.

Kevin is also co-author of Online Education for Dummies and The Technology Toolbelt for Teaching.

When he is not teaching, consulting, or writing, Kevin enjoys spending time with his son, volunteering, and hanging out with friends. He and his family reside near the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
