Nou Lor

First-Year Admissions Counselor - Eastern Wisconsin

Office Remote: Wausau Area

My name is Nou (pronounced like 'new'), and I am a first-generation Hmong American graduate from the University of Wisconsin- Stout. On my spare time, I enjoy baking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Advice for a new student:
Up to 80% of first year admitted students are uncertain about what they want to major in, even those students who have declared majors. Therefore, it is okay to not know what you want to do. You are NOT alone.

College Major/Minor:
I majored in Human Development and Family Studies

Why did you choose your major?
Through my volunteer experiences many chapters ago, I knew I wanted to help people. I was uncertain on what specific area in the helping profession, but after researching the HDFS program and recommendations from a few individuals, it helped me choose this specific area of study.

What do you love most about UW-Stout?
The professors are so helpful and friendly and everything you need on campus is within walking distance!

My favorite thing to do in Menomonie is…
The Farmers Market - fresh vegetables, flowers and lots of food!

A random fact about me...
I can still recall the first 10 numbers in pi (3.14) from middle school.
