Cutting-edge ideas and technology will be on display during the STEMM Student Expo at University of Wisconsin-Stout.
The free event is from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Great Hall and ballrooms of the Memorial Student Center. It will feature 160 research projects by students from the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.

Examples of projects include:
- Super Smash Bros: Project for the Blind, from the Impacts of Engineering class
- Rocket Kifas Wheelchair, from a mechanical engineering capstone course
- Rocks on Acid, from an Advanced Biochemistry class
- Exo-Suit, from Computer Engineering Design, a capstone course
- Wanderer’s Backpack, from the Functional Design and Development course
A total of 438 students are involved. They will present research posters and, when possible, examples of their projects.
The STEMM College has 18 undergraduate and eight graduate programs.
