Jason Jenson has received the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award for December at University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Jenson, of Chippewa Falls, is a technical support specialist in Administrative and Student Life Services. He has worked at UW-Stout for 14 years. He graduated from UW-Stout in 1998 with a degree in applied mathematics and computer science and is working on a master’s degree in information and communication technologies.

Jason Jenson, left, received the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award for December at UW-Stout from interim Chancellor Patrick Guilfoile.Jenson’s nomination said: “Jason has a strong, consistent work ethic in a position with intense demand and problem-solving. He has adapted to staff changes around him in a way that hasn't hindered the high level of service he gives his clients. Jason handles people of all temperaments well with his thoughtful, honest and committed approach to helping them with whatever problem they might be experiencing. Jason is quick to respond to help requests, which might very well be an in-person visit to your office. He makes each person feel important and will certainly go out of his way to help others. In his job, he keeps us operating at full tech capacity. We would be lost without him.”

Interim Chancellor Patrick Guilfoile presents each winner with a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout travel mug and a UW-Stout blanket.

Students, faculty and staff may nominate a university staff member who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the university community.

The award, in its 14th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
