Nicole BraegelmannFollowing is a Q&A with one of the 763 students who received a diploma Dec. 15 at UW-Stout

Hometown: Big Lake, Minn.

Why did you choose UW-Stout? Because of the atmosphere and the hands-on learning experience. UW-Stout has a great name for itself in the professional world, and going to an institution that has such an incredible reputation is very rewarding. In many of my classes, I learned a variety of techniques and tactics that I knew would set me apart in my career choice.

What are the biggest obstacles you faced in earning your degree? Time management and prioritization are two of the hardest things to adjust to when coming to college. Prioritizing a social, academic and work life is something that many college students do, including myself. It became difficult at times to figure out what had to be done first and what was more important than other tasks to complete. Using your time wisely and learning how to develop great study skills is a key to success.

What stands out among your college experiences? The incredible opportunities that UW-Stout offers as well as the community that we are engulfed in from the moment we step foot on this college campus are unexplainable. From day one Stout has felt like home, and this incredible community is something that has strongly impacted my life. I've met amazing friends and taken advantage of many leadership opportunities to make my experience here extraordinary.

What’s next? I have accepted a full-time job at Kohl's corporate headquarters in Menomonee Falls as a merchandise analyst trainee. I'm very excited to see where this career path takes me.
