Fall 2022 Move-In Week

What to expect, FAQs and packing advice
June 22, 2022

UW-Stout has a weeklong move-in process, when your student may drop off items before returning to campus for orientation.

This fall’s move-in week is from Saturday, Aug. 27, to Sunday, Sept. 4, allowing for flexibility around your and your student’s busy summer schedule.

The weeklong process helps to reduce community congestion to help the day be low stress and laid back and allows for you and your student:

  • To have time for room set up and to get any last-minute items.
  • To explore their building, campus and Menomonie.

Your student can settle into their space ahead of time and be focused to start the year.

  • In early August, your student will be able to select a day and time during move-in week to set up their room. Directions on scheduling a move-in time will be emailed to their UW-Stout email address in late July.
  • Your student may stay during the week. However, most students leave campus and return for orientation. Fall orientation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, for students new to Stout. Meal plans are not active during move-in week.

Meet at Parking Lot 29 on the date and time selected. Your student will have one unloading space in front of their building during their two-hour move-in time. Once unloaded or by the end of your move-in time, you will move your vehicle to an approved parking lot.

If your student will be moving to campus in the spring semester, remind them to check their UW-Stout email in December for more information.
