Jackie Garfield, financial specialist in Facilities Management, received the University Staff Appreciation Award for April.
The individual nominating Jackie stated: “Jackie is responsible for ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner in Facilities Management and ensures work has been completed to the supervisors' standards prior to issuing payment for parts and services. On an annual basis, Jackie processes payments for $2,000,000 parts and services purchased and contracted through our departments.
“Jackie's record management is impeccable and thorough. She works with our computerized maintenance management system to enter invoice payments into TMA and three-part match, which posts the payments on work orders. Jackie and her coworkers are all cross-trained to back up the roles of the front office, and she is quick to answer the phone or assist customers. She helps to foster a supportive work environment and is a joy to work with.”
Each employee of the month receives a certificate of recognition and a gift presented by Chancellor Katherine Frank. The award, in its 19th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
