My research experience has given me skills that will be critical to my success.

Inspiring graduate, Brandon Laufenberg.

When Brandon Laufenberg first visited UW-Stout, he fell in love with its state-of-the-art labs and hands-on approach to education. He also liked the feel of the small community.

But what cemented his decision to come to Stout was learning the possibility of employment before graduation. Many opportunities and activities fueled this possibility, turning it into a reality.

Laufenberg gained leadership experiences in his on-campus jobs and student organizations. He served as vice president of Stout’s American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and was an RA for housing.

"Working my way into leadership roles has given me experiences to carry into my future," Laufenberg said.

The ABMB faculty were also very supportive of Laufenberg's goals. They always offered helpful advice, were available to answer a quick question or talk to about his experiences.

Laufenberg's research experiences in the labs gave him the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in his field.

All of these experiences have been critical to his success as he begins his career.
