Kim Nimsgern is a Program Director and Lecturer at University of Wisconsin–Stout, where she teaches courses in management, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Her work focuses on applied learning, innovation mindset development, and career advancement for emerging and adult professionals.

Kim brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning higher education, nonprofit administration, and entrepreneurship. Prior to her academic career, she served as Executive Director of a multi-county nonprofit social service agency, leading organizational strategy, program development, and community partnerships. She has extensive experience in student support and success initiatives, including leadership of federally funded programs, and served as director of a multi-million-dollar Title III grant focused on institutional capacity building and student outcomes.

As an entrepreneur, Kim is a patent holder and founder who successfully developed and commercialized consumer products sold nationally and internationally. Her ventures have been featured in major retail markets and media outlets, providing her with firsthand expertise in product development, branding, and commercialization strategy.

In addition to her teaching and program leadership, Kim leads experiential innovation initiatives at UW–Stout, serving as project lead for Made@Stout and faculty advisor for the Collegiate DECA chapter. Her professional interests include entrepreneurship education, leadership development, and applied innovation.
