Monica Berrier has been teaching at UW-Stout online and in-person since 2012. Courses she regularly teaches include Multicultural Philosophy, General Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy, and she has also taught courses in Philosophy of Art, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Religion, and Logic. She received her PhD from the University of Minnesota in 2011 with a dissertation titled "Rethinking Aesthetic Concepts: Lessons from the Art of Classical Dressage."

In her classes, Dr. Berrier encourages students to dialogue openly about difficult topics in a climate of mutual respect and trust.  When approaching topics philosophically, we focus on the way reasons, arguments, facts and logic work together to establish sound conclusions.  Her primary goal in teaching is to help students become more critical, reasonable, ethical and empathetic in whatever path they follow.
