This committee is a 10 member sub-committee of the ESSC. This committee is charged by the Vice Chancellor to propose an alternative transportation program for employees. This committee is comprised of:
In Spring 2011, UW-Stout began partnering with the Dunn County Transit Commission to provide students with a bus service for getting around campus, as well as around Menomonie. Students ride free with a Stout ID, otherwise it is $2.00 per ride. We currently offer five routes.
Stout Route
Bus runs Monday Through Friday on a rotation between Red Cedar Hall, the Clock Tower, and the UW-Stout Library from about 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
North/South Evening Route
Bus runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings from bout 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The stops are at 19 locations including: Walmart, Sunset/Cedar Falls, Market Place, Stout Ale House, Red Cedar Hall, Raw Deal, Memorial Student Center, South Hall, Galloway Creek Apt., Bongey (21st Ave. W), Fryklund & Micheels, 21st Avenue & 5th St., Senior Center, Transfer St. & Wilson Avenue, UW-Stout Library, 6th St. & Broadway, Wolske Bay, Tainter & Elm, and KMart.
North/South Weekend Route
Bus runs on Saturdays only from about 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the same 19 locations as North/South Evening Route.
Northbound Route
Bus runs Monday through Friday from about 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the following locations: Fryklund & Micheels, 21st Avenue & 5th St., Senior Center, Transfer St. & Wilson Avenue, UW-Stout Library, Wolske Bay, KMart, and Walmart.
Southbound Route
Bus runs Monday through Friday from about 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the following locations: Walmart, Sunset/Cedar Falls, Marketplace, Stout Ale House, Red Cedar Hall, Raw Deal, Student Center, South Hall, Galloway Creek Apt., and Bongey (21st Ave. W).

Taking the bus and need to know where it is? UW-Stout and Dunn County Transit have partnered to create a new bus app for community members and UW-Stout students and employees. It can be viewed online or via iPhones or Android. Check it out here!
The Stout Safe Ride program is a late night bus route that runs on Fridays and Saturdays. This service is offered for students who are looking to have a safe ride home. The bus is free with a Stout ID. The bus runs from 11:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. If you are looking for a ride home, call 715.214.5876 and let the driver know where you are located for pick up.
