UW-Sprout Service Mark2

Our Story

The UW-Sprout Campus Garden was established as a small pilot garden in 2014.  In Spring 2015, we expanded the growing area to nearly 1/5 an acre.  We hired a student garden manager and recruited a staff of students and volunteers.  And we planted veggies, herbs, and berries, and built a hoop house.  Then we started a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) to sell the produce to UW-Stout employees.

The Sustainability Office oversees UW-Sprout.

The mission of UW-Sprout is to empower students to grow through a sustainable food production system, to cultivate ecological and personal health, and to host active participation in uniting the campus community.

We're located at 214 4th St. W. in Menomonie.  Just a block west of Red Cedar Hall, on North Campus.

During the summer, you can find us pulling weeds, watering garden beds, and picking tomatoes Monday-Friday, from 8:00am - 5:00pm. You can email us anytime at uwsproutgarden@uwstout.edu.  Or follow us on Facebook.
