Who should apply?

You can enter the program after you've completed a bachelor's degree.  While students who have received either a scientific, technical and/or a management-based undergraduate degree have been quite successful in the program, we also encourage applications from those with other backgrounds. Admission to the program is competitive. Candidates must meet the requirements of the Graduate School of the University of Wisconsin-Stout as well as the additional requirements of the Department. Specific requirements and application forms are available through either the Program office or the Graduate School at UW-Stout.

Entrance Requirements
Bachelor of Arts or Science - minimum 2.75 G.P.A. 

How many credits do I need to complete the Risk Control program?

A minimum of 39 credits is required to earn the degree, however, most students often take additional credits in order to expand their technical as well as managerial-based knowledge and thus be more marketable upon graduation.
 

What kind of preparation do I need to enter the program?

Successful completion of coursework related to general college chemistry, occupational safety and health, and organizational leadership is required in order for a student to be adequately prepared to enter the program

 

How long will it take me to complete my course work?

While attending classes full-time in the program can be completed in three semesters, some students who complete nine graduate-level credits under dual enrollment status have the potential of completing the program in two semesters.

 

Are classes available to me if I am working?

Nearly all of the required courses meet on a late afternoon as well as evening basis in order to accommodate working professionals.

 

How large is the Risk Control program?

On average, there are approximately 30 students in the program.  This allows for small class sizes and promotes the opportunity for better interpersonal dialog between faculty and students.
