Professional Requirements

The eight required courses in the Professional Requirements block provide a foundation of Operations and Supply Management skills which will enable you to successfully lead your organization.

  • Financial and Cost Analysis - You will learn how to make business decisions using cost, accounting, data and cost justification analysis.

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation - Through case studies, you will learn the basics of corporate strategy, how to align the strategies to your business unit, and how to successfully implement the strategies.

  • Enterprise Resource Planning - You will learn the strategic importance of various information technologies, and how to justify and successfully implement IT solutions.

  • Seminar: Operations Management - Current topics, including globalization and business ethics, are explored through guest speakers, current readings, and student research and presentations.

  • Program Management - Project management basics are expanded to include leadership and multiple-project management skills.  Those who previously had a Project Management course will instead take the Advanced Project Management course.

  • Organizational Research Methods - Fundamental research methods are taught, providing a start on your final field problem paper.  This is usually the last course taken in the program.

 

Leadership Courses

  • Organizational Development - The primary advanced leadership course, dealing with organizational change at the corporate level.

  • People Process Culture - A study of high performing people process culture organizations integrating sociology, applied psychology, and organization behavior subject matter areas.
