M.S. Degree in Career and Technical Education

In today's world of rapid technological change and global competition, career and technical education has an increasingly important role in preparing people for rewarding careers and helping them make career transitions. Business and industry are moving towards knowledge-based production and service systems. People who work with these systems must be able to integrate academic and technical knowledge.

UW-Stout's M.S. degree in Career and Technical Education is designed for professionals who focus on preparing people for successful careers in secondary, postsecondary and adult education as well as private sector training programs. This program provides students the opportunity to build a solid knowledge base that supports further discipline-specific understanding and the development of leadership skills. People who complete this degree are working in leadership positions within education and business and industry.

The Master of Science degree in Career and Technical Education (MSCTE), Stout’s longest running master’s program, is designed for the working adult:

  • Courses delivered online and face-to-face, throughout the academic year
  • Weekend and evening courses available
  • Complete the program in as little as two years
  • Financial aid options available: including student loans, scholarships, and graduate assistantships

MSCTE graduates can choose to further their education at UW-Stout by enrolling in the Education Specialist Career and Technical Education (EDSCTE) program. Graduates of the EDSCTE program are working as executive leaders in education and within business and industry.
