University of Wisconsin - Stout

A total of 48 credits are required. There are 26 core credits and 22 concentration credits in one of three concentrations: Health Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology or Program Evaluation.

Part of your concentration includes selective courses. These selectives are chosen in part from all of the concentrations. We highly encourage you to choose courses from the other two concentrations in order that you gain a breadth of learning from the fields of Applied Psychology that the MSAP represents. Discuss other appropriate selective courses with the Program Director.

Minimum full-time credit load is nine credits. Although twelve credits per semester will allow you to graduate in two years, the MSAP has been set up to allow you to focus your last semester on your internship and or field problem by themselves. This would free you up to take an internship off-campus. However, this will require you to take more than twelve credits in some other semester or to take summer school. GPA is important in graduate school. You must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 to stay in the program. The courses tend to be rigorous and require a high investment in time. Although you can take more than twelve credits, be practical and assess your abilities and other time commitments (e.g. employment, family, and the like) realistically.

If you slip below a 3.0 you will be placed on academic probation. Discuss this immediately with the Program Director.
