University of Wisconsin - Stout

You will be assigned an advisor when you first enter the MSAP Program. This person may fill several roles, but consider them to be your guides and mentors. As soon as possible please make an appointment with that individual. You do not have to stick with this advisor for your final Plan A or Plan B project, but they will be helpful in getting you oriented to the program.

Often students will want to change advisors because of a need for a more appropriate academic fit. If you feel the need to change advisors for whatever reason, discuss this with the your advisor first, and with the Program Director. We will help in finding another individual. You will need to have an assigned advisor for either your Plan A or Plan B thesis. This should preferably be done after you take your advanced research design course.
