University of Wisconsin - Stout

All applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School as outlined in the Graduate Bulletin and complete a Graduate School application. All applicants to the program are required to submit three letters of recommendation, a sample of writing (published or unpublished), a letter of purpose and goals, undergraduate transcripts, evidence of undergraduate preparation in psychology (15 semester credits), and course work in research methods and statistics (8 semester credits).

Deficiency in undergraduate course preparation does not preclude admission, but may require additional course work to complete the degree program. Additional materials may be submitted as evidence of competence within each of the following evaluative criteria: overall academic performance, quantitative skills, verbal skills, preparation in psychology, and fit with the Applied Psychology program. We highly encourage nontraditional students to document related work experience as additional indicators of competence across these areas. More specific recommendations regarding undergraduate preparation vary across the three concentrations. Students seeking further guidance and/or deadline information should contact the program director.
