What is the grade-point requirement in the marketing and business education program?

A 2.75 GPA is required for student teaching placement and graduation from the marketing and business education program. In addition, students must earn a C average in English and Speech, a 2.75 GPA in all education courses with a C minimum grade, and a B or better in all Marketing and Business Edcuation courses.

When do I apply for professional program admission (advanced standing)?

Students need to apply for advanced standing upon completion of 40 credits or sophomore standing?

What are the requirements for professional program admission?

To be fully admitted into advanced standing, students must have earned a 2.75 grade point average, a C or better in English and speech, and a passing grade on the Pre-Professional Skills Test.

Where do I get information on the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)?

The School of Education has registration information and Learning Plus software for preparation of the PPST. The School of Education is located in room 267 Home Economics.

Where do I take the PPST?

The PPST is offered at univeristies and colleges throughout the United States. It is offered on Stout's campus twice a year.

Student can choose to take a computerized version of the test at testing centers in Eau Claire, St. Paul and Minneapolis. Again, the School of Education has registration information.

What are the advantages of earning certification in Business Education?

Students earning additional certification in Business Education make themselves more competitive in today's job market. Marketing Education programs are typically offered at larger high schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Business education programs are found more frequently in the smaller schools. Therefore, school districts are more likely to offer both business and marketing with a dually certified instructor.
