B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Interactive Media

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design and Interactive Media at UW-Stout prepares you for a career as a professional designer, and provides graduates with the skills and flexibility to succeed and adapt to the rapidly changing nature of the graphic design and interactive media industry. 

Students may choose one of two concentrations:

  • Design » This concentration will allow students to explore various facets of graphic design including advertising, publication, packaging, motion graphics and more.

  • Interactive Media » This concentration is designed to provide students with opportunities to explore digital, web-based, emerging and innovative means of creating interactive design and communications solutions for web sites, digital interfaces and applications and more.

Admission for the Graphic Design and Interactive Media program is competitive, and in addition to the standard admissions criteria the following criteria also apply:

Graphic Design and Interactive Media applicants must also submit a portfolio and essay to be reviewed by a committee of Art and Design department faculty, who will determine admission into the major. Students must submit their portfolio and essay by January 10, 2014 and will have a decision in early February 2014.
