Our Program

UW-Stout's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art provides students with the skills and flexibility to succeed at cinematography, animation, and comic art. We include collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects and a comprehensive program that combines breadth and depth, art and technology, and a strong foundation in art and design. We are one of very few film schools in the country offering a degree in comics and sequential art, as well as:

Three Concentrations:

Animation > Explore two-dimensional, three-dimensional, character and stop-motion animation techniques.

Comics and Sequential Art > Explore the traditional and historic comic book and graphic novel forms, as well as, digital comics, motion comics and interactive comics.

Digital Cinema > Explore traditional film topics and genres such as editorial, documentary, narrative forms, as well as, commercial and experimental uses of cinema technology for commercials, games, and interactive storytelling.
