New Student Deploy, Fall 2016

New, continuing, and returning students eligible for laptops in the fall of 2016 will be notified over the summer of dates and times for laptop pickup in September.

Support hours are available from the Help Desk KnowledgeBase

Students are responsible for backing up their own data so now is a great time to explore OneDrive for backup. OneDrive can be accessed via Office 365. Students with HP laptops can view a OneDrive tutorial in Lynda to explore additional features, such as sync. Students with Apple laptops can use OneDrive via a web browser; Microsoft has not yet released a client for OSX, but it is anticipated in 2015.

About the eStout Program

The eStout Program is the digital learning environment at UW-Stout which offers students a variety of opportunities to be successful in achieving their academic goals. The program ensures that students and faculty have a standard set of tools - both hardware and software - that meet a majority of their wireless computing needs, thus producing a wireless laptop campus environment. The digital culture at UW-Stout is emerging as a dynamic agent for changing ways we learn. The eStout Program is included in the undergraduate student tuition so that UW-Stout students are provided with the tools that they will need to be technology literate in this environment.

The eStout Program is more than just a laptop computer! Students receive a laptop computer, backpack and a variety of cords/accessories as well as software, wireless and wired connectivity on campus, a course management systems, service and support, training, network storage, e-mail, web page space, and multimedia classrooms.

Students may want to purchase some optional accessories to compliment their UW-Stout laptop. Suggestions include an external hard drive, and/or a printer, although printing is available across campus at a minimal cost. All accessories should connect to the laptop via USB.
