At UW-Stout, Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, we are inspiring innovation.
As most of you are aware, the University and those who have been represented by a Labor Union no longer follow the letter(s) of collective bargaining agreements. This represents change for Administration, Supervisors and employees alike. Because we no longer have individual contracts and provisions, it’s been very important to address the many topics and employment actions impacted, including, but not limited to: Overtime Approval and Scheduling, Vacation Scheduling, Transfer Procedures, and Grievance Procedures. Click here to view updated guidance on the above changes.
Posted - 02/20/2012 - University Personnel Systems Development
Through its 2011-13 biennial budget, the State of Wisconsin authorized and directed the University of Wisconsin System to develop two distinct new personnel systems:
• One for all UW-Madison Employees
• One for all other UW System employees
These new systems are to be implemented on July 1, 2013. For more information select here.
Posted - 01/27/2012 - The Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM) advantages.
The Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM) will not only transform the way people apply for unclassified openings, but also revolutionize employee recruitment and hiring processes by enabling electronic routing and approvals, saving time, and reducing the use of paper. This will be done by streamlining and modernizing current processes.
TAM brings a variety of new opportunities to the University of Wisconsin System. Some of these include:
Posted 01/26/2012 - Employee Grievance Procedure
Any grievance filed prior to January 1, 2012 will be conducted according to previous contract's guidance and provisions.
The new grievance procedure became effective January 1,
2012. Thus, any grievances filed on or after January 1, 2012 will be
conducted according to Wisconsin Human Resources Handbook Chapter 430 and filed using the Grievance Report Form.
W-2 statements are now available in the MyUW Portal under the 'Tax Statements' tab in the 'Payroll Information' module. W-2 paper copies will be mailed by January 31, 2012. For security purposes, the W-2 statement on the MyUW Portal does not have employee's social security number on the form. The paper copy being mailed will have employee's social security number on the form. For a comprehensive explanation of the 2011 W-2 form, including the value that corresponds to each box on the form, we encourage you to visit this link: https://uwservice.wisc.edu/docs/publications/tax-w2-explanation.pdf. For further information, please contact Human Resources.
TAM will be rolled out to all UW campuses to be used as the core recruiting system for Unclassified recruitments and if needed, LTE recruitments. It will improve the way all UW campuses post position openings, take applicant materials, and provide aids for the hiring process. This new process will not only benefit the applicant, but also greatly improve the way new hires are entered into the system. More information regarding TAM will be coming soon!
