Research Interests

I'm particularly interested in understanding how people are influenced both in terms of everyday social interactions and in terms of large scale persuasive campaigns. I enjoy collaborating with students on research, so in addition to my main interest I work with undergraduate students on a diverse array of topics such as: stereotypes and violent video games, responses to ambiguously aggressive behaviors, responses to revelations of secrets, and most recently, how self-identity is related to problem drinking behaviors in college students.

I also regularly advise M.S. Applied Psychology students on their thesis, some topics include: environmental sustainability behaviors, gender and leadership, political attitudes, and consumer attitudes/behaviors.
