Brief Biography

This winter will find me developing essays and short-form non-fiction for publication, some related to interdisciplinary science and technology and others focused on eco-critical theory. I am also working on a refined manuscript of my creative thesis Father, Sky in search of an agent and publication.

Teaching Interests: I would like to develop future coursework to address themes of eco-composition and ecocritical theory, on issues related to writing and the environment, the perspective of place in contemporary narrative, feminism and environmental rhetoric, interdisciplinary threads between writing and community and youth perspectives (particularly in the digital humanities), writing natural history, and writing the sciences. I am also interested in the theological intersections between environmentalism, writing, and human development.

Research Interests: In a literary and rhetorical practice, I am interested in a systems approach to internationalism and interdependency, examining writing within the changing context of our ecology. I am interested in the relationships between creating and “recycling” in the composition classroom, and in literary theory, among others.
