The course places emphasis on: Curriculum selection and use, as well as available instructional resources and materials. Coursework assignments involve the completion of individual observation and teaching activities and the development of an effective driver education classroom curriculum.

- Develop an understanding of current traffic related issues and various factors which relate to identified issues.
- Analyze and define critical factors which belong to the driving task.
- Develop an understanding of the person-vehicle-environment concept relating to a driver education program.
- Develop the ability of identifying essential concepts which deal with the classroom instructional phase of driver education.
- Identify instructional resources and equipment available for the classroom phase of driver education.
