Paul spends his energies and interests in the dynamic and converging domains of information technology/information management and instructional design for online learning. He currently serves as Sr Manager - Innovation & Advanced Analytics for a large public utility, and stays active in designing courses and teaching online and on campus. He has served as the executive sponsor, responsible for the strategic planning and management of many multi-year, multi million dollar information management projects. He has also worked as the front line Project Manager, managing all phases, tasks, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Project management is one of his key core competencies, supported by his certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Dr. Coverstone taught his first online course in 1998 and served as Faculty Director of the online B.S. in Information Technology (BSIT) program at Capella University. In this capacity, he was responsible for program/course design and development, as well as faculty management. Additionally, while at Capella, he taught a variety of technology courses in database development, project management, and data warehouse design.

Paul is also an Adjunct Lecturer with McDaniel College, where he teaches research methods in the graduate and professional studies program, both on campus and online.
