Metabolic Testing

What is a Metabolic Analyzer?

The Metabolic Analyzer accurately calculates the number of calories you would burn if you were to be at rest for 24 hours. This is called your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) or  your maintenance calories.

Why do you need to find your Metabolic Rate?

One of the most fundamental steps in losing weight is to accurately calculate the amount of calories your burn during the day at rest (also called the resting metabolic rate). How well a person loses weight or maintains their weight depends on how accurately they can calculate their maintenance calories.

Why not use the equations available to calculate your metabolic rate?

There are over 150 equations to find the calories you burn at rest (maintenance calories); however, these equations use a lot of assumptions and are prone to errors. Hence they can only predict or estimate the maintenance calories.

The metabolic calculator, on the other hand, can accurately calculate the calories burned during a day for an individual without estimates or predictions. The Metabolic Analyzer is an indirect calculator and is considered to be the gold standard for calculating maintenance calories.

What are the rates?
