Distance Education students who live more than 25 miles from UW-Stout may request their textbooks to be mailed to them using the Distance Education Textbook Request Form.
Students are responsible for the cost of shipping to return their textbooks at the end of the semester, and they are due by the last day of finals. See IRS Fines and Fees for details.

IRS provides a mailing service for all distance education students who live more than 25 miles from campus. You are responsible for the return shipping costs. If you are within the 25 mile limit, you must pick up your textbooks from IRS.
No, you may pick them up in the Instructional Resources Service office if you plan to come to campus. If you are unable to come during normal business hours, but would like to pick up your books, IRS may be able to make arrangements for you to obtain your textbooks if you contact us ahead of time.
Contact IRS ahead of time, at least one day in advance. We may be able to make some alternative arrangements so you can pick up your textbooks.

You may request your resources as soon as you are enrolled in a course. Books for the Fall semester will be shipped starting August 1st. Requests are processed on a first come-first served basis. Please request your textbooks at least two full weeks before the start date of your course to ensure that you have it in time for the class. We do not provide overnight shipping for late requests.
